Week of October 16 - 20

NOTES FROM MR. CRAWFORD

Conferences
Please look for a link to PTC Wizard to schedule your student-involved conference.  These conferences should be scheduled with your child’s homeroom teacher/advisor only and will take place on Thursday, October 19th.  This year, students are expected to attend the conference with you as they will have an opportunity to share some samples of their work and reflect on their academic progress to date.  Due to the number of students our middle school teachers see each day, if you would like to conference with a teacher other than your child’s homeroom teacher, please email that teacher directly to set up a time.

Are hero’s born or are ordinary characters transformed by events which allow them to become heroes? Students will be analyzing themes such as good versus evil, light versus dark, and fellowship with regards to a quest. Your students are receiving a multitude of resources in order to fully comprehend the novel. Students can always access the About section in Google Classroom and we will be completing note packets throughout our class discussion. Your child will be more than prepared for The Hobbit assessments if they prepare in an orderly fashion. The reading schedule has been posted in Google Classroom. Students are going to be reading about 65-32 pages over a seven day period. Students should always feel free to read ahead and students should never put off reading until the night before.
