April 20-24

NOTES FROM THE HEAD OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL

CONGRATULATIONS LEXI, CARLISLE AND McKENNA!
“Let it be an act of remembrance, for that is what the victims wanted; to be remember, at least to be remembered.”  Elie Wiesel
To recognize the 70th year since the end of World War II and the liberation of the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, the Jewish Educational Alliance sponsored a writing and art contest to honor the thought that Elie Wiesel expressed above.  The horrors of the Holocaust appear several places in our curriculum.  Mrs. English’s 8th grade US History classes are currently studying World War II.  As part of that study the students submitted entries to the contest.

We are pleased to announce that Carlisle McCullough, Lexi Dixon and McKenna Bazemore’s entries were selected from a pool of over 200 entries for recognition.  They will be presented to the public at a ceremony at the JEA on Thursday, April 16th.  Congratulations ladies!
