News from the MS Student Government---
HDS Middle School Student Government is sponsoring a canned food drive to
benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Savannah
Participate
from November 4th to November 22nd by dropping off canned
goods at carpool or in the Middle School lobby
If HDS
reaches the goal of 1 ton (2,000 pounds) of canned goods we will have a
Teacher Edition of “Minute to Win It” on Monday, November 25 at 2:30 in the
gym!
As
you will see with the brevity of my comments this week, we are entering a
period in the semester that is a “grind.” Fall sports are concluded, winter practices are just beginning, we are
entering the third week of the quarter, and we are falling into a routine that will
carry us until the week of Thanksgiving. This is a good time to put in that extra work on courses to ensure a
strong foundation of basic skills. Enjoy the peace and regularity of this season,
when we get back from Thanksgiving it seems like a sprint to the end of the
semester and exams!
FLAG FOOTBALL
On
Saturday, our Flag Football team will be playing in its league tournament. We are seated #1! Congratulations to coaches and players. Please try and attend the game. We play at 9:00 and if we win that game will
play in the championship game immediately following. The game is on Hunter AAF. The easiest way to get to the field is to
enter off of White Bluff at the Stephenson gate. You will need an ID, car registration and
insurance card. You are going to the
YOUTH football field. To do that, drive
straight through the gate, go about 1000 feet and turn right on Perimeter
Road. The field is about another 1000
feet on your left. Should you get lost,
you are looking for the YOUTH (very important descriptor!) football field. Results in next week’s newsletter!
The flag football team received personalized cheers from the cheerleaders on Friday. |
