CLUBS

Science Club
For science club this week, we tested the infamous experiment…”Mentos and Diet Coke.”  We, however, used Diet Pepsi (it was on sale).  First, the students decided what variables they wanted to test and then what results they were going to measure.  Some of the experiments we conducted included looking for the height of the foam spray when seven Mentos (the optimum number according to multiple internet sources) were dropped into the bottle while comparing warm vs cold and caffeine free vs regular.  The warm and regular produced the highest spray.  Then students changed the number of Mentos used and, as predicted, as the number of Mentos increased so did the height of the spray.  We had a lot of fun and the students did a great job, not only participating, but also, helping me clean up.
